Bespoke days offering you the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor environment with your child secure in the company and safety of our highly qualified and experienced instruction.

We can offer a varied range of opportunities depending on your aspirations and previous experience. It's an ideal chance to share something together and gain the skill, experience and knowledge necessary to start to build up the confidence to venture out on your own.

Mountain walking.

Ratio 1:4

Is your child keen to walk up Snowdon or perhaps they are ready to scramble up Tryfan? This is ideal if your both fit and active and would like to explore some of the bigger mountains in the U.K. Snowdonia offers a huge range of challenges from a mellow introduction to some of the best first scrambles to cut your budding mountaineers teeth on.

Course Content

Planning and packing for a day outside.
Venue selection given weather considerations.
Mountain navigation: Map, compass and GPS.
Route choice and Movement skills.
Ascending and descending safely.
Being prepared and staying safe in the outdoors.


Roped Scrambling

Ratio 1:2
Perfect if your both experienced mountain walkers already with some grade 1 scrambles under your belt. We explore the steeper graded scrambles that require technical equipment, including helmet, harness & rope. This can be a guided experience or if your ready we can show you the ropes and help you take yourselves safely up some Snowdonia classics.

Using a guide book and route reading.
Movement skills & hold selection.
Removing and storing protection on a trad route.
Attaching, detaching and building safe belays.
Abseiling.
Being prepared and staying safe in the outdoors.


Inside-Out

Ratio 1:2
Taking indoor climbing onto the rock. Courses can vary from a purely guided experience on single pitch trad or sports cliffs, to stunning journeys on some of the best multi pitch venues in the U.K. At the end of these you will be very familiar with the skill set necessary to be a competent second and be much more familiar with using a trad rack (includes abseiling too).

Using a guide book and route reading.
Transferring indoor skills to rock.
Removing and storing protection on a trad route.
Attaching and detaching safely from belays.
Abseiling.
Being prepared and staying safe in the outdoors.


Competent & Confident

Ratio 1:4
Perhaps your both more interested in being self sufficient and want to be able to rig outdoor climbs for yourself? We can safely take you through the stages needed to build strong systems and belay securely from above and below. Focusing on utilising a trad rack and ensuring a safe, systematic and well grounded skill set.

Course Content

Planning and packing including technical and rope selection.
Guidebook interpretation and route choice.
Introducing placing gear and the hierarchy of protection.
Building belays.
Belaying from above. Lowering climber into routes and holding top rope falls.
Movement coaching.
Basic problem solving.
Abseiling.


Lead climbing coaching

We do offer sport and trad leading instruction and coaching for under 18's with appropriate climbing experience. If you are interested in this please contact us for more details.

We only use instructors who are experienced and enthusiastic about working with young people. All our instructors hold a current DRB and have safeguarding and working with vulnerable individual training.

For all our courses with under 18's the parent or guardian must be present and fully partake in the day.
