The safety of local communities and country as a whole along with our instructors, clients and their families is of primary concern. We again wish to assure you that we will be working completely in line with current recommended professional standards as well as local and national government guidelines.

Current Welsh Government Guidelines (updated 6th January 2021)

Due to the increase in restrictions we have cancelled our courses over New Year and until the end of January. We will be following the guidelines and staying alert to any changes in the situation in Wales or Scotland.

    Wales is now in lockdown.

Scottish Winter Courses. Currently it is against the law to travel into Scotland without 'reasonable excuse', see Scottish government link above. General skills and mountaineering courses are not considered such. If you are booked onto a WML or WMCI training or assessment at some time this winter you are allowed to travel and stay in preparation for your course, you must have proof/confirmation of your booking. Please check out Mountain Training Scotland's website and Facebook page for updated information.

    Leading Edge Covid response.
With the local lockdowns and travel restriction we are continually reviewing future courses..
We will be asking clients to transport themselves to and from venues in their own vehicles to avoid any close and confined contact between themselves and instructors.

Leading Edge can provide information on various options around the local area that will be able to provide self contained accommodation that meets the government guidelines for overnight stays. General campsites are now available.

    Instructors (health).
Any instructor employed by Leading Edge will complete the same Covid statement concerning symptoms and their possible contact to others with symptoms. They will strictly abide by current local and national government guidelines. Any possible Covid virus concerns will be referred to the company directors immediately and relevant actions will be taken.

Where possible we are asking clients to bring their own personal equipment as per the kit list on the joining instructions. (Leading Edge can provide personal equipment but will disinfect/quarantine as appropriate, see below.)

In addition clients are asked to bring a mask or suitable face covering and disinfectant hand gel to all venues. Utilising hand gel will be required pre and post activities.

Any technical equipment provided by Leading Edge will only be used by the instructed party for the duration of their course. All technical equipment will be washed/disinfected or have been quarantined for 72 hours before being used by another booking.

    Working practise.
Leading Edge will endeavour to observe current guidelines for social distancing. From 11th July 2020 we are able to be in closer proximity to clients if the 2m distancing is impractical. In these situations the instructor will ask for masks to be worn and will endeavour to do all that is practical to limit any possible cross contamination.

    Covid Cancellation policy.
Should you need to cancel due to a Covid related issue then a postponement or full refund will be offered. Should Leading Edge have to cancel a postponement or full refund will be offered.
